Included in the sexploitation cinema genre, the film's tagline was “Our doctor's bedside manner really tickles the ladies' fancies”. The film was both written and directed by Derek Ford. Ford had previously helmed titles such as The Wife Swappers (1970) and Suburban Wives (1971). This film even spawned a sequel, What's Up Super doc! the following year.

Dr. Todd also cures some patients. Angela Grant handled most of the nudity as Felicity was four months pregnant. Reviews frequently describe it as utter and complete crap farce unfavorably comparing it to more prominent hospital comedies. The movie, despite these issues, did well enough to spawn a sequel.
